Growing Tips for New Zealand
Direct sow in spring after the last frost, or start indoors 6–8 weeks earlier. Strawflowers prefer a sunny position with well-drained soil. Thin seedlings to 30 cm apart. Harvest for drying just before the flowers are fully open for the best results. Excellent for most NZ regions, particularly warmer areas such as Northland, Auckland, Hawke's Bay, and Nelson.
