Growing Tips for New Zealand
Sow seeds in late summer to early autumn (February–April) into seed-raising mix, then transplant seedlings to a sunny, sheltered spot with fertile, well-drained soil once they reach 10–15 cm tall. Space plants 40–50 cm apart. Water regularly and feed with a balanced fertiliser through the growing season. Tie outer leaves over the developing head to keep curds white and protected from frost. Harvest when heads are firm and tight.
💡 Grower's tip: Want bigger heads? Simply plant further apart — spacing plants 60–70 cm apart encourages larger, fuller cauliflowers.
