Growing Tips for New Zealand
Direct sow in autumn or spring into a sunny, well-drained spot. California poppies dislike being transplanted, so sow where they are to grow. Scatter seeds thinly, press lightly into the soil, and water in. Thin seedlings to 15–20 cm apart. They thrive on neglect — too much water or fertiliser will reduce flowering.
