Growing Tips for New Zealand
This mix is designed to be easy and forgiving. Prepare your soil by raking it to a fine tilth, scatter the seeds, and lightly rake them in. Water gently and keep moist until germination — most varieties will be up within 1–3 weeks depending on conditions. Sow in spring (September–November) for summer blooms, or in autumn (March–April) for early spring colour. Thin seedlings as they establish and deadhead regularly to keep the blooms coming all season long.
💡 Grower's tip: For the most natural look, scatter seeds in drifts rather than rows — the slightly wild, unplanned effect is exactly what a cottage garden is all about.
