Growing Tips for New Zealand
Direct sow onto the surface of well-prepared, free-draining soil — do not cover, as seeds need light to germinate. Sow in autumn (March–May) for the best results across most NZ regions, or in early spring (August–September). Thin seedlings to 15–20 cm apart in a sunny position. Plants grow to 45–75 cm tall and flower from late spring through summer. Allow some plants to set seed at the end of the season for a self-sowing colony that returns each year.
