Green Noodle Bean Seeds — Phaseolus vulgaris
The Quirky, Productive Bean You'll Love
Green Noodle Bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) is a wonderfully unusual climbing bean that produces extraordinarily long, slender pods — sometimes reaching 40–60 cm — that hang in dramatic cascades from the vine. Also known as yard-long style beans, they're tender, flavoursome, and incredibly productive. A real talking point in the garden and a delight in the kitchen, especially in stir-fries and Asian-inspired dishes. If you've never grown noodle beans before, prepare to be amazed.

Growing Tips for New Zealand
Sow direct from October onwards once the soil has warmed to at least 16°C. Sow seeds 3–4 cm deep, 15–20 cm apart, at the base of your support structure. Provide a sturdy trellis, teepee, or fence as plants are vigorous climbers. Water regularly, especially once flowering begins, and harvest pods young for the best texture. Keep picking to encourage continuous cropping. Avoid overhead watering to reduce the risk of fungal issues. Performs beautifully in all regions of New Zealand through the summer months.
