  • Fast to harvest — ready in just 50–70 days from sowing
  • 🌱 Easy to grow — a brilliant choice for beginner vege gardeners

Growing Tips for New Zealand

Beetroot thrives in a sunny spot with free-draining, fertile soil. Direct sow seeds 1–2 cm deep in rows 30 cm apart, thinning seedlings to 10 cm once established. Water regularly and consistently — uneven watering can cause the beets to split. The Rainbow Mix performs beautifully throughout most of NZ, sown from spring through to early autumn. Each colour variety may mature at slightly different rates, so harvest as they reach size.
