Imagine a corner of the garden catching the last soft light of a summer evening. Ruffled Salmon Peony poppies, the warm shades of Dahlia Amber Mix and the earthy beauty of Rudbeckia Sahara bring that lovely glow, with cheerful Candy Cane zinnias, cosmos and hollyhocks adding their own cottage garden charm.

I've brought these seven favourites together for a garden that feels welcoming, a little romantic and full of life. Flowers to linger over with a cup of tea, a few stems to bring indoors, and little things to look forward to as one season gives way to the next.

A little summer warmth in seven packets

  • ๐Ÿงก Salmon Peony Poppy โ€” lovely layers of ruffled salmon petals.
  • ๐ŸŒผ Dahlia Amber Mix โ€” a garden-saved mix in peach, golden yellow and warmer red shades, many with little frills of collarette petals.
  • ๐Ÿฌ Zinnia Candy Cane
  • ๐ŸŒธ Cosmos Bright Mix
  • ๐ŸŒท Dwarf Mix Hollyhock
  • ๐ŸŒท Double Mix Hollyhock
  • ๐ŸŒป Rudbeckia Sahara โ€” a beautiful mix of soft, earthy shades.

A few lovely surprises

Our Dahlia Amber Mix is grown from our own garden-saved seed. This is a variable mix rather than a uniform named variety. Colours and flower forms will vary, with a few lovely surprises along the way. That's part of the pleasure of growing from seed: watching something with its own character find a place in your garden.

Flowers for now, and dreams for next summer

A cottage garden grows into itself a little at a time. With a suitable start and a little warmth, the dahlias and zinnias can bring colour in their first summer, while the hollyhocks settle in and save their lovely display for the following year. Each flower has its own rhythm, giving you something to enjoy along the way and something to look forward to.

Your collection comes as seven separate seed packets, rather than one loose seed mix, so you can raise each favourite in its own way and find just the spot for it. Follow the individual sowing guidance, enjoy those first little seedlings, and let your garden's story unfold over more than one season.
