Echium Mix Seeds — Echium plantagineum

A Charming Mix of Colours for the Cottage Border

Echium Mix (Echium plantagineum) is a delightful mixed variety producing masses of trumpet-shaped flowers in a soft blend of blues, pinks, purples, and whites. Easy to grow and wonderfully free-flowering, it's a magnet for bees and butterflies and brings a relaxed, romantic charm to any sunny border or wildflower planting.

Why Gardeners Love It

• 🌸 Beautiful mixed colours — blues, pinks, purples, and whites in one packet
• 🐝 Outstanding bee plant — one of the top pollinator-attracting annuals
• 🌱 Easy to grow — direct sow and largely self-sufficient
• 🌼 Self-seeds freely — naturalises beautifully year after year
• ☀️ Drought tolerant — thrives in dry, sunny spots
• 📏 Compact habit — grows to around 30–40 cm, ideal for the front of the border

Growing Tips for New Zealand

Direct sow in autumn or spring into a sunny, well-drained position. Echium thrives in poor to average soil and dislikes being transplanted, so sow where it is to grow. Thin seedlings to 20–30 cm apart. Excellent for coastal and dry NZ gardens, including Canterbury, Hawke's Bay, Nelson, and Marlborough., Auckland, Waikato and Northland
