A Blazing Mix of Summer Colour
Cosmos sulphureus Mix is a joyful and fun blend of double and semi-double blooms in rich crimson red, glowing orange, golden yellow, and soft cream. Held on slender, well-branched stems above bushy, compact plants with the characteristic deeply cut foliage of the sulphureus species, this mix brings a warm, exuberant energy to the garden from summer right through to autumn. Whether planted en masse in a border, tucked into a cottage garden edge, or cut for a vase, this mix is a season-long celebration of colour that bees and butterflies adore.

- 🌼 Bushy, compact habit — naturally tidy and well-branched, great for borders and containers
- ✂️ Excellent cut flower — stunning in warm-toned summer arrangements, long-lasting in the vase

- 🌱 Easy to grow from seed — fast-growing, heat-tolerant, and free-flowering in warm conditions
Growing Tips for New Zealand
Cosmos sulphureus loves warmth and performs best in full sun with well-drained soil. Sow seeds directly in spring once soil has warmed, or start indoors 3–4 weeks before transplanting. Sow on the surface of moist seed-raising mix and cover lightly. Space plants 25–30 cm apart. Sulphureus types thrive in drier conditions and are more heat-tolerant than bipinnatus — avoid overwatering. Deadhead regularly to keep plants flowering prolifically from summer through to autumn. Performs beautifully throughout NZ in warm, sunny positions.
